Welcome to latest Group members newsletter.
First up: Appeal for Volunteers
In a recent supplemental newsletter the current committee put out a request for the need to secure the following volunteers in order for the Group to fully function.
Below is a gentle reminder of said information ….
Annual exhibition secretary and assistant
The position of Exhibition Secretary basically requires –
- good organisational skills to ensure information sent/received on time
- access to a home computer and preferably a printer*
- bring exhibition pack up to date as and when required
- organise printing of posters via Felixstowe Flyer
- organise typing of labels and once proof read, organise printing
- assistant proof reads all information matter and assists as required
*Note – Group has a printer purely for use of FAG and currently held by Group Secretary Assistant
A full checklist is available for anyone interested in volunteering for the above role due to Liz D’arville and Yvonne Smart standing down at the AGM 2026.
It is essential committee have volunteers for the above before the AGM in order to be sure the Group’s Annual Exhibition will go ahead in 2026
Technical assistant for Tuesday evening meetings
Once again a request for a volunteer to step forward for this (non committee) role to assist as and when required to setting up the camera and projector on a Tuesday evening when Graham is not available. Such a situation occurred recently and yes we muddled our way through but it certainly was not ideal and put much pressure on those who were endeavouring to help. To have someone to call upon at times would lift a huge weight off Graham’s shoulders. Maybe third time of asking we might be lucky!
Mini exhibition organiser
Following our appeal for above position Tracy kindly volunteered for this role. Tracy will therefore head up a working party to assist her.
Any members who can offer some of their time to fulfil any of the above roles, which are essential to the running of the Group, please (that’s please in bucketfuls) respond to the ‘newsletters’ email address.
